The Saudi government's attention to expanding power generation

The Saudi government's attention has been drawn to finding ways to expand power generation due to the country's persistent increase in the demand for electrical energy. Since there is greater gas emission to the environment through a greenhouse effect, the ways of generating power in this country contribute to one of the primary causes of environmental pollution, which has dramatically harmed the health of people and other creatures. Other techniques of electricity generation must be used to limit the amount of gas spewed into the environment, which always endangers Saudi Arabians' lives. Since it has a suitable geographical location which is said to be Sun Belt, provides an excellent field of construction the most significant solar energy that will produce enough electricity to serve the citizens in Saudi Arabia.

Importance of solar energy in Saudi Arabia

Solar energy is much cheaper as compared to other types of energy which makes it more favorable for usages since it comprises the indirect cost of fossil fuels which are involved. The method of using photovoltaic cells which uses sunlight to process energy serves as the essential way of producing energy that is clean and free from environmental pollution. Therefore, it is crucial for the Saudi Arabia government to find another way to boost latest conventional production in the country that as well protects the environment and human-friendly. Being a country on a desert, its large part is dry therefore makes it fit for the usage of the solar energy and this makes Saudi Arabia being the most significant energy producer averagely 2200 thermal kWh/m2 (Alawaji 61).

The political temperature of Saudi Arabia

The political temperature of Saudi Arabia being favorable, it gives the country enough to concentrate on essential matters especially the production of electricity which is the primary concern of the nation. There is more time for the government in charge to ensure all the plan have been put in place to ensure the solar energy project emerge successfully.

Energy Consumption

Saudi Arabia has a large capacity for energy consumption that requires more production; therefore the government needs to make they should use the possible ways to produce more energy that can feed all of its citizens. Since it will be much expensive for the country to import electricity from its neighbor countries, this means that for the government to ensure that there is enough energy in the country, they need to rely on solar power which is cheaper.

Need for increased power production

There is need of evaluating and analyzing the alternative plans to expand the capacity system so that to accommodate more people as well to serve any need that may arise in time to come (Abdullah 56). There expected growth of demand for electricity which requires sufficient power generation capacity. The need to increase the power production as well power supply is due to a steady increase in the population of Saudi Arabia that expects more of the electricity to run their daily activities. At the same time, more industries require more energy. Therefore, conventional power can not only be enough for the people to use during the peak hours.

Energy Production

Electricity, gases that are ordinary and unfinished oil is the main power resources in Saudi Arabia. Many projects have been forward to facilitate these essential resources that are considered the largest part essential ones in the economy of Saudi Arabia. The three types of energy mentioned above are produced differently, for example, crude oil being the most critical energy resource that is relied upon by most of the countries including Saudi Arabia (Al-Ali et al., 8).

Electricity being part of the main center of this paper and is the major power assets. In most of the region of Saudi Arabia, it mainly produced by the private sectors which play a significant role in the production of electricity through their companies such as investor-owned Electricity Company. The company that provides is not the same company that takes management of the power; it's managed by a different company which is General Electricity Corporation (Abdullah 70). The company produces power as a byproduct of multi-purpose water desalination plants that are found along Saudi Arabia. Even though the companies take part in energy production, the government has its support on them to ensure they are able enough to produce enough energy in the country.

Market and Economics

The demand for the electricity that is produced in Saudi Arabia is her citizens; they are the primary consumers of the power. Since the country is not able to generate surplus electricity, they find it unnecessary to export to their neighboring countries while they don't have enough for their people (Alnatheer & Othman 2309).

There has been a steady decline of the electricity; the current cost of the PV in there is almost nearing the value of United States. There is more expectation of prices to fall in the coming future since there more strategies that are put in place to ensure solar enough provides the required amount of energy, the target of reducing the cost of electricity to the minimum level.

Currently, solar power has lowered its price which is approximately 0.62 SR/kWh which is a more cost-effective as compared to that of conventional. This makes the government support the traditional energy so subside for them to be able to lower its prices that are affordable by the Saudi Arabians (Alnatheer & Othman 2311). Therefore it is expected that solar energy to be more competitive to that of conventional that will reduce the cost of energy hence increasing quality services that are offered by the involved company to its citizens.

Recommendation for solar energy in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia largely depends upon the availability of electricity due to the growth of the population. Therefore it's essential for the government to ensure that measures are put in place to ensure solar energy is produced and supplied so to be useful to the citizens. The process of introducing more of the generation capacitors that will increase the amount of energy should be used as well.

The government should ensure that the life of the Saudi Arabian is taken care of by replacing the conventional energy with the use of solar energy so to reduce more harm to the citizen through pollution.
