Pursuing a degree in engineering

I am pursuing a degree in engineering, particularly electrical engineering.

I had no notion what I wanted to do for a living when I first arrived in the United States. This confused me because I know what I'm greatest at. Consequently, I started learning business accounting, but I eventually dropped it. After two years of accounting, I moved on to take math and physics courses, which were generally my favorites. This served as the foundation for figuring out what I should follow. I've always done well in science and math, and I've gotten As every time. My father and mother have both specialized in electrical engineering and civil engineering respectively and have always encouraged and supported me to pursue this area of study.

Despite enjoying all my engineering classes, circuit design impressed me most.

This is because I liked solving challenges and problems that came along with it by doing intensive research and analysis in a bid to ensure my circuit worked. Electrical engineering is beyond problem-solving. A large aspect of this area of study requires one to be updated with the latest and emerging technologies and this distinguished me from my colleagues. At all times, I kept watching the market to determine any latest technology that has been invented.

Following my experience during my last summer internship, I have learned a lot of things related to electrical engineering.

It was an interesting experience for me to apply theoretical engineering in the real world of engineering. Notably, my projects, labs, and classes had a definite solution which I had to obtain. Nonetheless, it was different in the real world since the test engineers, design engineers, the customers, and management work collectively. I realized the importance of teamwork as well as its significance in this area of study. All these have made me feel prepared to play my role in this sphere and contribute in order to bring a difference.
