How California Meets the NCLB Legislation's Assessment Requirements

The No Child Left Behind Law

The No Child Left Behind law (NCLBL), which was enacted in 2002 as an update to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, is a successful instrument utilized by states to strengthen the federal government's role in ensuring that schools are held accountable for their kids' academic achievement. It was designed to make sure that the administration of the school handled the pupils with care both inside and outside of the classroom. To the best of their abilities, the students can use them to accomplish their goals.

Difficulties in Implementing the Statute

Putting this statute into effect has presented several difficulties for the state of California. More so, the law matured without any other congress update or reauthorization. The state also has difficulty monitoring tutors in order to ensure they deliver quality work in the education system. In some instances also, most students did not take advantage opportunity offered to them to transfer to the other school or even seek tutor services for free. However, Chicago has been able to successfully petition to have its own tutoring services.

Achievements of the Law

The law has also been able to achieve some positive outcomes. The student achievement has been laid down clearly in the law, and the educationists among other key stakeholders are putting more efforts in ensuring that the students' needs are met in learning English as the second language. NCLB involves having provisions for the family involvement and communicating to them in the language they understand better.

Improvement in Education System

The learning in California has therefore, greatly improved since the introduction of NCLB into law as the tutors have become more accountable in their responsibility. The students on the other hand have been forced to work harder in order to improve their performance. It has therefore, brought about positive changes in the education system.
