Current job issues and the deficient educational system

Current job issues and difficulties are the result of a deficient educational system. Instead of empowering the individual, this method provides them with crucial information about their field, but not the skills necessary to apply that knowledge effectively in the workplace. Their capacity at work is constrained because they lack the interpersonal skills needed to effectively interact with coworkers and gain knowledge from collaboration.

The gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application

Numerous lessons taught in institutions are predicated on theories and ideas related to the field of study; this equips one with knowledge on the field but not practical ability in the areas of study. As the individual progresses once they get work they need to orient themselves a new with the new working environment and correlate what they learned to the tasks they are meant to engage in. Several leaders have found the education system that is currently applied in major countries to be negative towards personal development of individuals. This is because the system that is more oriented towards theory also facilitates evaluation techniques that analyze the grasping of content and not the application of principles taught in class.

Formulated rules and regulations in education

It is also noted that students follow most of the rules and regulations in school so as to guarantee themselves a pass in their different units. However, formulated rules and regulations should be followed out of the personal need of seeing their importance this enables an individual to lead a responsible life with or without the rules. Yeom Jaeho, the 19th president of Korea University (KU), is the first to adapt to the new revolution that is needed in the education system. He has formulated initiatives that will scrap out the current evaluation system of exams and C.A.T's, and also eradicate policies on attendance. This will create room for lecturers to have freedom in selecting evaluation methods that seem best to them in analyzing whether the content taught was grasped and could be applied in different scenarios. Attendance should also be an initiative of the student and not a regulation.

Poor management and inefficiency at the workplace

Despite the flawed education system, several challenges are also faced in the working environment where management techniques lead to poor decision-making policies and inefficiency at the workplace. New management techniques are being applied to deal with this poor management and inefficiency at the workplace. The Holacracy system is amongst this new initiatives, it adapts to a more independent form of leadership at the workplace. This is achieved through instead of dividing jobs according to job descriptions whereby each individual had a specific job description, the work is now distributed in accordance with roles and they are updated frequently. The roles are distributed amongst workers, and each individual could have several roles. Leadership is then distributed in accordance with the roles and teams working on them. This is opposed to the old type of management leadership. Rules also apply across the board minimizing discrimination and favoritism at the workplace.

The importance of Cyber security in specialized fields

Despite this method being efficient in different environments, it is not applicable in the fields of Computer science that require high specialization of labor in that tasks done by one person cannot be easily changed to a different person. In such fields, the greatest threats are not in management but in Cyber security that has caused huge losses for companies equating to billions of dollars. It is important for institutions to enact specific initiatives that will curb this threat. As early indicated the education system plays a vital role in productivity and efficiency in the workplace. Thus, initiatives concerning Cyber security should be passed down to students, and they should be made aware of the threat it possesses to businesses and the society at large. The students should then be educated on how to deal with Cyber security and curb different threats that emanate in the discipline. This will enable individuals at the workplace to be more equipped to handle such threats reducing the drastic effects it has on the organization's reputation and financials.
