Coroners Job Research Essay

Finding the specific cause of someone's death is a challenging job. As a result, it may be difficult for a coroner to recognize marks and other important evidence on the dead and determine the exact cause of death. For investigations to go smoothly, gathering all the information is very important.

When a death occurs, waiting for the police to come could prevent some investigations from being completed before the coroner shows up. Even though the authorities will maintain the location as a crime scene and less data will be tampered with, having a coroner as the first person to get on the crime scene will greatly expedite the process getting to know the cause. As the causes of death can be classified into five, every death should be investigated thoroughly (Jentzen, J. M. 2009). Therefore, a chief coroner needs an investigator in the department. This will minimize the errors that arise when there is a death occurrence. The work of the coroners should not be under a certain or different department rather a full department with all the facilities, equipment’s and personnel’s needed. These personals are inclusive of the investigators. These investigators will help a lot in the analysis of the undetermined cause of deaths. In getting information on the cause of death which has little evidence such as in cases of skeletons, entrusting the police to take them for further analysis may interfere on very essential details. These details may be minor to the eyes of an ordinary police but a person who has specialized skills can make a huge difference on the department (Noguchi, T. T. 2014). As much as it may seem the investigators have very minimal work to do, they will have much more help in the department than the police. Unless there is an inquest, a coroner’s jury will then be formed by the chief corner (Cross, C., & Garnham, N. 2016). This means that, if something is wrong and some information is required, instead of going through the police, the jury formed should comprise of the investigator to handle the whole case instead of getting outsiders.

Conclusion

The chief coroner’s office should comprise of the whole department which special investigators, especially on crime scenes, are essential for a smooth and proper investigation to be carried out with no irregularities on the deceased body.
