Implementing Formative Assessment Techniques

As stated by Fisher & Frey (2015), the teacher needs to find out what students have learned after every lesson and should not just ask the learners to recite the facts. This technique known as Formative Assessment helps the teacher to realize the concept which is not well understood by the learners to plan for its repeat. Fisher & Frey (2015) further suggested appropriate methods test the understanding of students. Among these methods include oral and written questions and giving projects to be worked on by the learners later after classes. From the students' responses, the teacher will get an accurate reflection the change achieved by the instruction (Fisher & Frey, 2015). Unfortunately, you failed to highlight the disadvantages of Formative Assessment Techniques in your post. The process of checking the understanding of students and making changes depending on the result consumes a lot of time which may make it ineffective for some teachers. Otherwise, the tool would be appropriate in assessing the outcome of learning and not just activities.
