The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a questionnaire-based reflective self-report. The experiments claim to reveal people's psychological preferences about how they make choices and view their surroundings. Katherine Briggs developed the MBTI predictor in collaboration with her daughter Isabel. Carl Jung suggested a typological hypothesis on which the test is based. Carl had hypothesized and discovered that there are four psychological principles. Intuition, sensation, perception, and thought are the four guiding principles (Myers, 2013). Most of the time, a person believes that he or she is the most powerful. The purpose of this indicator is to make the theories described in it useful to the people and more understandable.

Sixteen Personalities

Besides all that, sixteen personalities come from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator that enables one to know their character and personality to their lives. The personalities include; ISTJ, ISFJ, INFJ, INTJ, ISTP, ISFP, INFP, INTP, ESTP, ESFP, ENFP, ENTP, ESTJ, ESJF, ENFJ, and ENTJ. Personally, I am an ENTP, where E is extraversion, N is intuition, T is thinking, and P is perceiving. Therefore that means that I am enthusiastic, strategic, versatile and I enjoy new ideas, challenges and value inspiration. Personally, I am not inwardly focused since I am an extrovert. Again, I accept ideas for their sake and wait for things to connect as they come to my intuition character displays this. Make my decisions in an impersonal way through critical thinking before I take any step. Due to my perceiving nature, I prefer coming up with imprecisions when new situations come up.

Learning Styles

There are three distinct styles of learning, and these are; visual, auditory and tactile. I decided to take the cognitive learning styles with my earning style being visual which has the largest percentage of people having this learning style. I also learn more by interacting with others. I prefer a learning atmosphere in which there is emphasis put on the meaning and association. In my learning rather than judging, I perceive in a flexible learning surrounding which has new ideas that are more exciting. I also used an analysis table to assess my learning style.

Impact of ENTP Personality on Learning Styles

Having an ENTP personality has enabled me to have a good learning style. All that is reflected in my personality is also reflected in my learning styles. Being an extrovert has enabled me to be outspoken therefore in my learning I tend to learn more through interaction with people. My intuition personality makes me accept things, and therefore in my learning, it has enabled me to prefer a good learning environment where an emphasis is put on the meaning. My thinking nature when making decisions has enabled me in my learning to have logical principles and desire objective truth when I am reasoning out. Since I do not judge, it makes me in my learning to work with the given time although I may submit my work a bit late I do it to the level best. All these personalities make me be among the best students since I know how to make decisions right through the use of my logical principles.

Preferred Learning Environment

The learning environment that scored highest for my analysis was the bedroom. The bedroom according to my score analysis indicates that there are fewer distractions like the television or the computer. At home, I ensure that during my study time I do not carry my phone to the bedroom. I made sure that my computer is now in the living room since it was a great distraction since I would go there to play games rather than study. I always keep it locked during study time to ensure that my juniors do not come into play there so that my parents do not distract me. Since there is a toilet in my room, I prefer using it to avoid unnecessary movements in and out of the room. Anytime that am at home I tend to do my study in my bedroom since I put a fan there to condition the temperature of my room. I got a chair that is m what I lost conducive for studying as I sit at my study table. All I need to improve on is to change the location of my study tale as it faces the direction of the living room where there is always music going on or people talking, and that distracts me so much.

Understanding Different Learning Styles

As a student having known that different people have different learning styles, therefore, you ought to understand them. It is very easy to know how to handle others since I know that their way of doing things is different. I know that being an extrovert, there are those who just keep their things to themselves while I like talking. My way of solving problems is also different and very efficient therefore it will help me emerge as a good leader who knows how to handle issues.
